Frequently asked questions
The short answers to what Hishmate is, what it costs, how credits work and what stage the product is at.
What is Hishmate?
Hishmate is a freelance marketplace for small remote tasks. You post one need and independent workers apply to do it, for a fixed reward paid in platform credits.
What kinds of tasks can I post?
Every task falls into one of three kinds. Consult: hire an expert for advice. Promote: hire someone to spread the word about a product. Test: hire someone to use your product and report honest feedback.
Do I need a crypto wallet to use Hishmate?
Yes. Hishmate has no password login: you connect an Ethereum wallet and sign a message to prove you own the address. Any injected browser wallet supporting EIP-6963 or EIP-1193 works.
How do credits work?
Credits are the unit of value for tasks on Hishmate. You top up by sending USDC on the Arbitrum Sepolia network to the platform treasury address, and 1 USDC is credited as 1 credit. Posting a task reserves the reward, and it is paid to the worker when you approve the delivery.
Is Hishmate free to join?
Creating an account, browsing tasks and applying are free. You only need credits when you post a task and pay for work.
How do I get paid for work I do?
Apply to a task with your profile and resume. If the requester picks you, submit a delivery when the work is done. Once the requester approves it, the task reward moves into your credit balance and you can both leave a rating.
Which languages and countries does Hishmate support?
The Hishmate interface ships in eleven languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Hindi and Arabic. Tasks are remote, so requesters and workers can be anywhere.
Is Hishmate production-ready?
Not yet. Hishmate runs on the Arbitrum Sepolia test network with test USDC, and the task board is seeded with sample tasks that do not accept real applications. Credits on a test network have no monetary value.
